Nearly 6 years after being established as the climax of my best day of bouldering in the Southeast, Illusions stands unrepeated. Initially I thought this problem was V11, but I don’t think I realized how nicely things had came together for me that day. Because of the style specific sloper tension involved, and because I sent it on an adrenaline push at the buzzer of the Mortal Combat competition, I think this problem is hard for me to conceptualize. I hope that someone will see it on www.b3bouldering.com‘s list of hardest boulder problems in America and decide to repeat it, because i’d love to hear I wasn’t just sandbagging…or would I?

Maybe someone would repeat it if they could actually find any holds on it! I never realized that it was unrepeated all those times I sat staring at the part of the wall my guidebook insisted somebody had climbed. Nice work!
